Architectural window film

Solar heat makes you pay twice.

First as heat entering through the glass, then as electricity to cool the room again. In a Jakarta office that runs about 12 hours a day, all year, and there is no cool season. NanoShade stops the heat at the glass, before it reaches the room. We survey the building first, then quote.

Open plan office behind a full glass wall with even daylight

The survey is a paid visit. We measure the glass and specify per elevation before quoting.

Pick a shade, on the glass

See every shade on the glass.

A shade is how much light passes through the glass. A lower number is darker. The heat rejection comes from the ceramic, not from the darkness.

99%infrared heat blocked, every shade
40%visible light through

Shown on architectural glass. Every shade keeps the view: even the darkest still shows the skyline. The survey decides which film we fit on each side of the building.

Blinds and curtains do not solve this.

By the time sunlight reaches a blind, the heat is already inside the room. Heavier curtains only make the room dark, and the heat is still inside. The only place to stop solar heat is at the window itself.

Glare makes people close the blinds and switch on the lights, so you pay for daylight and then pay again to block it. Meanwhile some rooms are too hot and others are too cold, and the rooms nobody wants to sit in are the ones you are still paying to cool.

Three ways to build a window film

Heat is stopped by the ceramic, not by the darkness.

A film has to do three jobs at the glass. It has to stop the infrared that carries the heat, it has to leave the daylight and the view alone, and it has to let the phones inside the building hold a signal. Only one construction does all three.

  • Infrared heat
  • Daylight
  • Mobile signal

Cheap dyed film

Colour in the plastic

The dye absorbs visible light, so the glass looks dark. The infrared that carries the heat passes straight through.

Metal reflects infrared heat, which works. Metal also reflects radio frequencies, which is the problem.

Nano-ceramic film

Where our own films sit

Nano HD, Nano UV400, Nanoplus and SolaMax are nano-ceramic, and so is the 4 mil safety film.

Nano Silver and Silver Shadow are reflective films, chosen for the mirror face and the daytime privacy rather than for the numbers above, so this comparison does not describe them.

Blinds up, screens readable.

Blinds solve glare by removing the daylight and the view along with it. Film cuts the glare at the glass, so the room keeps both.

Daylight kept

The room stays lit by the window instead of the ceiling, which is where the lighting saving comes from.

Fading slowed

More than 99% of UV is blocked, so stock, artwork, timber and upholstery keep their colour far longer.

Even temperature across the floor

Desks by the window become usable again, so you keep the full floor area.

Not a cost, a saving that repeats

About 30% off cooling cost, est., every month for the life of the film.

Film stops the heat at the source, so the saving repeats. The more sun-facing glass you have, the sooner the saving covers the cost. Unlike replacing the glass or upgrading the AC plant, film is installed in days, floor by floor, and nothing has to close.

It repeats every month

The heat never enters, so the AC never has to remove it. The saving repeats every month. It is not a single reduction.

Days, not a shutdown

Installed zone by zone while the building keeps operating, including work outside normal hours if that suits you better.

Your number, not ours

The 30% figure is an estimate. At the survey we calculate an estimate for your specific glass, orientation and AC system.

Every film a building can take.

Four groups. The heat control films cut solar energy and glare, the privacy and appearance films are chosen for how the glass looks, and safety film holds a broken pane in its frame.

Nano-ceramic, and the longest e-warranty terms we give. Non-metal, so WiFi and access control are unaffected.

Not sure which film belongs on which elevation? That is what the survey settles.

The survey comes first.

A building quote is only meaningful once someone has seen the glass. The survey is a paid, scheduled visit, and it is where the specification is actually decided.

  1. Tell us the building and the city

Message us on WhatsApp with the location and roughly how much glass is involved.

  2. We schedule the survey

A paid, scheduled visit. We measure the glass, check orientation and glass type, and note anything that changes the specification.

  3. Specification per elevation

West and east glass rarely need the same film as north and south. You get a film named per elevation, with its published figures.

  4. Quote and schedule

Costs and a work sequence that keeps the building operating, including work outside normal hours if that suits you.

  5. Install and register

Fitted by our own team, zone by zone. Every installation is registered and the certificate arrives by email.

Start with the city and the building type.

Questions facilities managers actually ask

How much can we realistically cut the AC bill?

Cooling is usually the largest part of a commercial building electricity bill, and solar heat through glass is the main cause. Film keeps up to 95% of that solar energy outside, and cooling cost typically falls about 30%, est. That figure is an estimate: the real result depends on glass area, orientation, your AC system and the film selected, which is exactly what the on-site survey establishes.

Will the office go dark, or look like a mirror?

Not unless you choose that. Heat rejection comes from the ceramic, not the darkness, so a light shade still rejects the heat. If you specifically want a reflective exterior look, that is Nano Silver, and it is a deliberate choice rather than a side effect.

Can we get privacy without making the glass dark?

Yes. Nano Frost is a frosted film that passes daylight but blocks the view through, which suits partitions, bathrooms and street-level glass. Nano Silver gives daytime privacy from the outside, and you can still see out from inside.

How disruptive is installation on a building that is still operating?

We work zone by zone so a floor stays usable. Most rooms are back in use the same day. The sequence and timing are agreed at the survey, including work outside normal hours if that suits you better.

Will it interfere with WiFi, phones or building systems?

Our heat control films are non-metal, so WiFi, mobile signal and access control are unaffected. Nano Silver is a reflective film, so if you have signal-sensitive areas, tell us at the survey and we will choose a different film for those areas.

Will it bubble, peel or discolour in a few years?

Bubbling, peeling, delamination, adhesive failure and excessive fading are all covered by the e-warranty for the full term of the film, from 3 years up to 10 years depending on the film you choose.

Is the survey free?

No. The survey is a paid, scheduled visit where we measure the glass, check orientation and specify the right film per elevation. The quote follows from it. Asking questions on WhatsApp costs nothing.

Ask us something specific about your building.

We reply the same working day. Asking costs nothing.
