How the NanoShade e-warranty works
Digital, registered against your installation, with a certificate by email and a number you can check years later. Includes the 30 day activation window.
Our warranty is digital. There is no card to lose and no paper to file, because the record lives in our register rather than in your drawer.
What “e-warranty” actually means
Each installation is registered against the job. You receive a certificate by email with its own number, and that number stays in our register. Cover can be checked at any time, by you or by us, years after the film was installed.
That matters most on buildings, where the person who checks the warranty in year six is usually not the person who signed for the work in year one.
Why digital rather than a card
Window film warranties have traditionally been a printed card handed over when the job is done. That approach has three problems, and all three only appear years later, at the exact moment the warranty is needed.
A card can be lost. A card cannot be checked by anyone except the person holding it. And a card proves nothing about who did the installation, because a blank one can be filled in by anybody.
A digital record solves all three. The number is in our register from the day of the installation. It can be checked from anywhere. And it is tied to a recorded job rather than to a piece of paper.
Activate within 30 days
The term runs from the installation date on your invoice, not from the date you activated it. Activation has to happen within 30 days of installation, so do it while the invoice is still in front of you.
All you need is your name, the invoice number, and the vehicle details or the address of the site. It takes about two minutes.
If you lose the number later, search your inbox for NanoShade. If it is still missing, message us with your name and invoice number and we resend within one working day.
What is covered
- Glue failure
- Cracking and crazing
- Bubbling and blistering
- Peeling and delamination
- Factory film defects
- The reinstallation labour, by our own team
People often miss that last line when comparing warranties. Some cover replaces only the material, which leaves you paying to have it fitted again. Ours covers the labour too, and that labour is done by our own technicians.
What is not covered
- Glass breakage from impact
- Scratches from blades or rough pads
- Damage from harsh chemicals
- Any film a third party has removed or reworked
That last one is worth reading twice. Once another installer has worked on the film, we can no longer tell whether a fault came from the product or from the rework.
The term is not the same on every film
Cover runs from 3 years up to 10 years depending on the film you choose. These are the terms we publish.
| Film | E-warranty term |
|---|---|
| Nano-ceramic 4 mil safety film | 10 years |
| Nano HD | 8 years |
| Nano UV400 | 7 years |
| Nanoplus | 5 years |
| SolaMax | 5 years |
| Sola-X | 5 years |
| Nano Silver | 5 years |
| Silver Shadow | 5 years |
| Nano Frost | 3 years |
The term for each film is also printed on its datasheet next to the measured figures, so you can see what you are buying before you decide.
Keeping the cover valid
Film needs no special care, but three things are worth knowing.
Wait before opening car windows. The glue needs a few days to dry fully, and the technician will tell you how long for your installation.
Clean with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner. Rough pads scratch film, and scratches are not covered.
Do not stick adhesives or stickers directly onto the film. Pulling one off later can lift the film with it.
Claims
A technician reviews every claim and replies within one business day. If the claim is approved we schedule an inspection, then repair or replace the film, at no cost for defects the warranty covers.
When you raise a claim, include your warranty number and a photograph of the problem. Photographs speed it up, because a technician can often identify the cause before visiting.
The cover stays with the original owner named at activation and is not transferable. If you are buying a car or a property that already has film, message us with the warranty number and we will tell you exactly what is still in force.
